You may have seen the story about a 21 year old Tampa man who pummeled his son into unconsciousness and eventual death because he thought the toddler was gay. This was covered on Shakespeare's Sister here and here (and numerous other places, but that's where I read it...it's an outstanding group blog).

He got 30 years.
